People United in Love and Peace (PULP) Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has appealed to Nigerians to always develop positive mindset critical in propelling the country to greatness.
The founder of the organisation, Dr Victor James, made the appeal in a communiqué issued at the end of the foundation’s maiden outreach on Wednesday in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
James urged Nigerians to refrain from negative criticisms and casting slurs at public office holders.
He said that investors were shying away from Nigeria due to negative notions created by citizens about public office holders.
According him, these negative perspectives will not do Nigeria any good.
“Presently, investors are taking their businesses away from Nigeria.
“Nigeria has the manpower, we have the population but because we are not speaking together as brothers and sisters.
“Everyone is saying that I am from Zamfara, therefore, its only Zamfara people that will do this, I am from Abia State, therefore, only Igbo people will do that, No, we must understand that we are Nigerians first.
“We must understand that and it is when development will start and that is when investors will come back to bring in their Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) to Nigeria because they know that Nigeria has the population and manpower,’’ James said.
He further appealed to Nigerians to eschew violence and strive to live in peace and unity.
James identified lack of peace and unity as responsible for love-lost among Nigerians.
According to him, the aim of the Foundation is to do everything we can to unite our brothers from the north with our brothers from the south.
“It does not cost us money for us to unite our country. it is just for us to work on our change of mindsets.
“I flew all the way from New York, U.S. to Nigeria to speak about the essence, the need for us to live in peace and unity,’’ James said.
James canvassed for the removal of “State of Origin’’ from the constitution.

According to him, every Nigerian should be accorded their full rights to engage in any economic and political activities regardless of the state where they hail from.
“In my Nigeria and America passports, they wrote Benue State but if I want to run an election in Benue, I will be told to go to Abia, however, in my passport, there’s no Abia on it.
“If we can remove all these impediments, Nigeria will be a better place to reckon with in Africa’’.
James said that preparations were underway for PULP Foundation to stage a concert at the Eagle Square in Abuja, where women would be empowered with money to support their businesses.
According to him, some women will be given N1 million each to support their economic growth.
“The reason behind the Foundation’s priority for women stems from the fact that women usually turn out first to embrace peace and unity, women are pillars and the stability of Nigeria cannot be fixed without them,” James said.
