There was pandemonium in the popular Balogun market today, November 5, 2019 as fire razed a shopping complex on Martin Street.
The spokespersons for LASEMA and the fire service, Nosa Okubor, and Adeleke Ashimi, respectively, confirmed the incident. Ashimi added that another complex on Dosumu Street, about 500 meters from Martin Street, was also on fire. “Our men are on their way there as well. We don’t know the extent of the fire yet,” Ashimi said.

Many traders were seen struggling to salvage their goods from the burning complex while others are lamenting the havoc caused by the fire. At the time of this report, the cause of the fire and the extent of damaged caused are yet to be ascertained
