Female Delegates Wear Black To Mourn Serial Killings

confabFemale delegates yesterday put on mourning look by wearing black as a mark of honour to the departed souls of victims at the Nyaya bomb blast in which over 75 persons lost their lives and over 150 injured.

Over 90 percent of the female delegates were noticed wearing black and even distributed black barges to male delegates, who also complied by putting the barges on their chest in solidarity with the victims of the bomb blast.

The women explained that the information went round yesterday after women delegates met and resolved that it would be imperative that female delegates should wear black to prove to Nigerians those women were concerned, while demanding that the Federal Government should do something about it.

We speak as mothers and as sisters what is happening in Nigeria has become embarrassing and that is why we decided to wear black, our children have been killed our husband have been killed” “We cannot allow the situation to continue like this. It is no longer about the politics but about securing the state.

We would want all of us to redirect our mind, we do nothing that it is the work of Boko Haram, we have to buckle up; our country is on fire if the attack could be in Abuja which means we are no longer save in the country.”

Kunle Oladije, a delegate from Ekiti stated that this was another arrow in the heart of Nigeria, adding: “I believe we are being invaded, we must take politics out of this, we need to tell the government that there were hands of external forces in this continuous attacks.”

Tunde Bakare explained that there was the need to let the government know that this was becoming too much, saying: “Let us take drastic action by resolving that the conference should be on hold, pending the time the security was strengthened.”

For Chief Segun Osoba, “Nigeria is at the state of war, gradually the economy of the North is being destroyed, the education of the North is being destroyed. The suggestion I will make is that our borders should be closed for now and that strong delegate should be sent to the president.
