First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has announced that as from August 28, 2015, it will stop receiving cheques with belonging to Mainstreet Bank, due to the merger between Mainstreet and Skye Bank.
In emails it sent to its customers, FCMB advised customers with such cheques to pay into any of its branches before the deadline.
“Following the recent merger between Mainstreet Bank and Skye Bank, please be advised that effective Friday 28 August, 2015, all Mainsteet Bank Cheques or instructions will no longer be accepted for clearing at FCMB branches.
This means that if you have any Mainstreet Bank cheque in your possession, kindly pay into any FCMB Branch for clearing before Friday August 28, 2015,” the email read.
It will be recalled that Skye Bank acquired Mainstreet Bank Limited last year after the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) stripped its interest and reassigned full ownership of the bank to it.
