Collation and Counting of Votes Still on, despite extension of polls
Collation and counting of votes have commenced across Nigeria following the conduct of what is being described as the country’s freest and most peaceful Presidential and National Assembly elections.
In places where delays were due to the late arrival of voting materials, accreditation have now ended and voter’s were seen patiently waiting to exercise their franchise.
Voting closed in most polling centres across the country at about 18.00 Hrs GMT, especially in centres where accreditation ended by 13.00 Hrs GMT.
In many of the polling centres in most states across the country and Abuja, accreditation and voting were held in an orderly and peaceful manner, with only a few glitches with the card readers and a few incidents of rowdiness in one or two polling units.
Results of Saturday’s elections are to be announced by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in due course.
