BBNaija Lockdown: Laycon Emerges Winner, Clinches N85m Prize
Olamilekan Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon has emerged winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 5.
After 10 weeks of undiluted entertainment, Laycon beat 19 other housemates to be crowned the winner of this year’s reality television show.
Laycon, who was obviously the favourite on the show, is going home with the grand prize of N85 million (30 million cash prize, an Innoson Motors Jeep and a two-bedroom flat by Revolution Now Properties).
He led by 60 per cent votes followed by Dorathy with 21.85 per cent votes. However, Nengi had 15.03 per cent votes while Neo and Vee had 1.94 per cent and 1.18 per cent votes, respectively.
Before the winner was announced, viewers were treated to entertaining performances from fast-rising stars, Fireboy_dml and Rema and later, Mayorkun and Davido.
With each passing week in the house, the housemates were given tasks and challenges which either aimed at testing their resilience, mental and physical prowess or just sparking their creativity.
The tasks also earned them various prizes (ranging from money to gifts, trips and more) from sponsors of the show.
Ozo won an Innoson Motors vehicle, Vee, Nengi and Laycon won a trip to Scottland sponsored by Johnny Walker, Tricky Tee won a trip to Dubai and a year’s supply of Pepsi, while each of the other housemates won monetary gifts during the show.
Despite the odds, most see Laycon as an underdog and he scaled all hurdles to become the winner of this year’s Big Brother Naija reality show.
Laycon goes home with his head high to meet his mother whom he speaks so fondly of with the N85m prizes.
