7 township roads rehabilitated within 100 days of Oyebanji’s administration -official

The Gov. Biodun Oyebanji-led administration in Ekiti has completed the rehabilitation of seven township roads in Ado-Ekiti within 100 days of his assumption of office.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr. Sunday Komolafe disclosed this on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti at a news briefing after monitoring the completed and ongoing road projects in the metropolis.

Komolafe listed the roads rehabilitated to include: Matthew Street, St Paul Anglican Church road, Odo-Ado road; Mugbagba – St Paul Anglican Church road, Ijigbo Roundabout – Atikankan road.

Others are Olukayode Stadium- Okuta Gbokutalori –Old Garage road, Atikankan- Isato Oke- Sadiat Hotel road, Basiri Road (John Nova Int. School junction) – Adebayo opposite Chicken Republic, Oke-Bola – Access road and Spur Little by Little road.

The permanent secretary commended the governor for his commitment to improving the wellbeing of motorists and other road users in the state.

He said that the rehabilitation of the roads would go a long way to assist the populace in carrying out their day- to-day activities and reduce accidents in the areas.

Komolafe said that the ministry was working round the clock to ensure that the contractors delivered to specification and within the completion date.

Speaking on the quality of the job, the official said that the present administration has zero tolerance for shoddy jobs, adding that the ministry embarks on close monitoring and supervision of all the projects.

He listed the remaining roads undergoing rehabilitation as Agric Olope – Moferere – Odo Ado road, GRA 3rd Extension, and OkeIla- Housing Corporation road.

Also on the list are Oja Oba – Post Office – Palace road and Oladele Street at Awedele, all of which, he said,  were expected to be completed soon.
