Manchester United allowed inconsistent performer Nani to leave on loan to Sporting Lisbon, and if his debut for the Portuguese side, the decision was the right one. Martcos Rojo arrived at old Trafford as well as Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw. But following a disastrous start to the season despite not losing any game during the pre-season Manchester United went back into the transfer market to bring in some more fire power. The signing of Marcos Rojo may not solve the defensive problems at Old Trafford but it sure will go a long way.
Bringing in Falcao is simply a stroke of genius as he brings more energy than Welbeck and more goals than Hernandez or Van Persie. Manchester United have no problems with creativity as they can rely on Mata’s subtlety, Herrera’s passing ability and Di Maria’s creative driving to anchor their attack. Manchester United likes to cross the ball, and that is a good thing since Falcao is one of the best strikers in the air. Manchester United didn’t buy a world class holding midfielder but a confident Anderson and a player like Blind would do just fine.
Patrice Evra made it clear he wanted to leave the club and he did, but Vidic still had plenty to offer and Moyes made another high profile mistake in letting the Serbian go. Bebe’s exit is nothing short of a stroke of genius and a loan spell would do wonders for Cleverley, Hernandez and Zaha and if their form doesn’t improve, the club can easily move them on
Manchester United spent a large amount of money on transfers and it remains to be seen if Van Gaal can make it work with the players he has at his disposal this season.
