2,000 successful applicants across Kaduna go for Tvet Maximisation project

The implementation Manager of the project and also the Area Manager of Industrial Trust Fund (ITF), Engr Garba Hassan, made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna during the screening exercise.
He explained that over 121,000 persons had applied but the pilot phase of the project aims to equip only 15,000 individuals with skills across seven states which comprised, Lagos, Ogun, Edo, Enugu, Kaduna, Nasarawa and Gombe, from August till December 2022.
According to him, the project is divided into two, in-class and out-class, narrating that applicants would undergo an intensive training for the periods of three months, then a six-month Industrial training before graduation.
Hassan stated that the Federal government has introduced strategies of tracking down the trainees to ensure that the starter packs given to them were not abused.
Speaking also, the Commissioner, Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology, Kaduna state, Kabir Mato, assured that the project would reduce rates of unemployment in the state and also create job opportunities, particularly for the teeming youths.
He commended the Federal government for offering the state the highest numbers of the beneficiaries.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Director, innovation and skills development, Bulus Adon, urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the gesture.
It would be recalled that the Project T-MAX is a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme, which has been approved by the National Steering Committee on National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS) as one of the core interventions to achieve the Federal Government’s goal of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty by 2030.
The skills include ICT, Automobile Furniture Works, Welding & Fabrication, Plumbing & Fittings, Tiling and Interlocking, Electrical Installation.
Others are Solar Installation, Maintenance, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Repairs, Photography Cinematography, Tailoring, Fashion Design, Beauty Care and Cosmetology, Leather Works and Agripreneur and Agro-Packaging.
